About the game

Anima Path is a gaming experience for smartphones, a retrospective and reflection on life and death inspired by the tradition of the Day of the Dead. The player must guide an anima through a side-scroller tour accompanied by different puzzles and abstract elements that are part of the altar that is built during the festival.

Throughout the tour, a story of the anima that is being guided is told and puts into perspective different situations that occur in real life. The message is for the player to understand what is happening around them and generate empathy for others, while discovering the functionality and symbolism behind the altars and activities that are carried out in honor of the dead.

Where do the stories come from?

Mainly, the inspiration comes from personal experiences. These are adapted and modified to achieve a connection with the players, which also opens a door to reflect on different problems that occur around the world, be they social issues or mental health issues.

IS ANIMA PATH A SERIOUS GAME?

Given the different elements and objectives that the game poses, we consider it a serious game, where the player is taken beyond just entertaining him for a period of time. In the game experience, the player reflects during the development of the stories, where at the end, the last reinforcement gives context to everything he experienced during the tour.

GAMEPLAY

It depends on the attention that the player pays to the details, since it is an experience that is accompanied by reading to discover the history and development of the character. There are several paths along the way that further expand the story. The average game is about 10 - 15 minutes.

PLATAFORMA

For now the game is only available on Android systems, because this platform allows us access to a larger audience. However, we do not rule out at some point making a port to iOS or some other platform.
